The last time I needed win zip it was free everywhere. Now I can't find it for less than $30. Where can I get it or something comparable for free?

7-zip is open source and offers the same features. (It's free and more powerful).

there is a zip utility called "power archiver" its last free version was "power archiver 2001 version 6.11.0 // it was quite a trick to find this page // bookmark it !!!
this is the download for the file version 2001- 6.11.0
be patient, it will take you to a next page.
and then in a few moments you should see the little window come up to start download. it still works well whenever i need it, and i have xp & vista systems.

Win Zip should be included in your computer. If not, I suggest you download 7Zip. It's free, ad It supports so much more file extensions.
