Combine all my PDF files into one?

Question

I have 15 PDF files I would like to combine into 1 readable file and put in on my website for customers to view, like a book format. Is there a program that will do this?

Sure there is. Adobe Acrobat Reader Professional

version or the Professional Extended version can

do the job for you.



There's an option under document > insert pages

and you select the source of files that you want

to combine into as one file. After you combine you

make any final changes and save this as one file

with a different name. And share it as you want.

adobe acrobat professional does that for you. but you have to buy that software.



if you are looking for something that is free, you can install ghostscript (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ghostscript/ )



i assume you are using windows.



once installed, check if you can use the command "gs" from command prompt (go to start, run, enter "cmd" to open a command prompt). if command prompt says "command/program not found", enter the full pathname of where you installed ghostscript (like c:\program files\ghostscript\gs.exe ) and then use the following command:



gs -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOUTPUTFILE=combinedpdf.pdf -dBATCH 1.pdf 2.pdf 3.pdf



combinedpdf.pdf is the name of pdf file generated by combining "1.pdf", "2.pdf" and so on.. give as many pdfs as you want in the order you want them to be combined.

The new version of acrobat (9) allows portfolios of documents--basically it puts a bunch of pdfs in a file. any version allows appending pages from one pdf to another If you don;t have the software, and only need it done once. send me an email with your address
