Deleting a page from an excel file withoug opening?

Question

I'm working on something at work. I copied and pasted something into page 12 of the excel file. Now when it opens it tries to "recover" a copy. It says:

"Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not possible. Excel attempted to recover your formulas and values, but some data may have been lost or corrupted."

Is there any way I can delete page 12 without having to open the file? I did a quick internet search but couldn't find anything.

You have to open the file using Excel in order to delete the page. However, you may be able to access a version of the file dated prior to the unfortunate happenings that you are experiencing by right clicking the file and choose: Restore Previous Versions.



If there are previous versions available, they will show in a list. Open the last one before things went wrong and you should be ok.

Try opening the Exel file then right click the page and select "Delete". When asked "Are you sure" click "Yes".
