You should have first got all of your HP updates. Some software and driver updates would make them compatible with windows 7.
But you can still go th HP support and look for driver and software downloads for your computer after you upgrade windows.
You can go to this sight and enter your computer model #.
Select Windows 7 as your operating system and see what software is available for you to download.
Good luck

Edit-Do I even need it? Well if you are experiencing a problem you can run tests on your DVD drive, graphics, hard drive etc etc It is handy if you will use it. If not then no it is not necessary for the day to day use of your computer.
My wife would never use it or know if it were missing. To be honest, I only use it now and again because I have too much time and curiosity on my hands.
Edit look in the start menu all programs for the HP folder. Click on it to open it and select HP Update. It might update the programs you mentioned.
Ok, you are Upgrading your operating system to Windows 7.
But your software(programs) which are for Windows Vista can possibly be updated to be compatible with Windows 7 before you upgrade to windows 7. That is why it is telling you to un install, because they are not up to date or can not be used with Windows 7. It is not a big deal to go ahead as long as you get your security back on.
OR go to the websites I gave you after the upgrade and re install the programs if they are available
