Generally you go in to your page setup and choose landscape as opposed to portrait.

Printing on both sides of the paper requires either a full duplex printer or patience to figure out which way you need to put the paper back in to print the other side manually. What I've done in the past to see how it prints is to make a big black X with a marker on a piece of paper, print to it, put it in upside down and print to it again so I can figure out how the paper needs to go back in to print on both sides. There's programs that will do that for you but you're looking at $40-50 for that. Fortunately now, I've got a printer that does that for me already.

As far as your brochure, take a look at templates. You're probably going for a 3 fold brochure? If you can't find a template give yourself a 1/4" margin on all sides and then 3 columns at 3.25 inches each, but realize that you're going to have no gutter between the columns so you're going to have to be careful that you don't overlap - unless you want to that is.

What you're talking about doing is usually better done in Desktop Publishing software like Adobe InDesign but the free and open source Scribus http://www.scribus.net/ will do it as well.

Hope all that helps and good luck on the project!

If you don't have a printer capable of duplex printing, you will have to print all the odd pages; Put them back in the printer and print the even pages on the other side.

To view the page horizontal you go to file - page setup - and then find landscape view.

to print double side when you click print under file it gives you options. if you have the right printer. otherwise you have to turn the paper around each time.

Change your print layout to "landscape". In regards to printing on both sides it depends on your printer, you might have to print on one side, and reload the same paper to print on the other.

if you have microsoft word--go to the Page Layout Tab. Then you click under either orientation or page setup. From there you can choose which way you want your paper to go.

if you have microsoft word change the layout to "tight" then there should be a little green dot right above the size changing dots

if you want the text to be flipped you would put it in a text box.

Otherwise use page layout to change from portrait to landscape
