Question:
How do you select and copy/paste a rasterized shape on Photoshop?

I'm using CS4 and trying to copy and paste a rasterized shape. For some reason it wont select once I rasterize it so it wont let me change the angle of the shape either. Apparently there is a shape selector? But I don't have a clue where that is XD

Plenty of ways to go about it. In general, treat it as a selection:

- Lasso tools (polygonal, freeform)

- Shape tool (you have to use it in Path mode, and convert the path to a selection)

- Clone Stamp (use a large enough brush, hold Alt and click on the area you want to copy)

- Work in Quick Mask, fill black, paint white over what you want to select (using Shape tool or whatever's comfortable), and exit Quick Mask to get the selection

You can use the Free Transform command to rotate and stretch a selection.

The regular selection tools should work when the shapes are rasterized. Make sure you're on the proper layer when attempting the selection.

I don't understand.

I tried it myself but it works!

PS. What is XD?
