Hello Zoe,

Have you tried Gutenberg?

This site allows you to download books legally as the books are no longer in copyright.

These books are not brand new published books like the ones you are requesting. I doubt these books can be downloaded legally for free.

However, it might be worthwhile having a look around Gutenberg.

The link for Gutenberg is:

The books you mentioned are all under copyright. The only way you can get them for free (legally) is from the library. Except anything from JK Rowling. Her books have not been released in digital form.

You can access the public library right form your Sony Reader Store menu. Just click on "Library Finder" and it will link you to the system and your local library based on your zip code.

If you were to attempt to download these books for free from any other website, it would be illegal and you would have a good possibility on infecting your computer with viruses and spyware. Please remember that the authors you enjoy reading need to be paid for the books they write. If no one pays for them, the authors will stop writing because they can't make money to live on. Then you will have nothing to read.

NEW ebooks? Well that would be Amazon.com (they have a few)

All the books you are asking about are copyrighted, so they would never be free.

I get my ebooks (older ones) from the below site.

Don't know about 'new' ebooks but Gutenberg.org is quite reliable.
