1. Right click on the image on the web, when the little menu comes up choose "Save As..."

2. Save as a document wherever you keep your stuff on your PC

3. Find the pic on your PC, right click and choose "Open As.."

4. Open as Paintbrush

5. While in Paintbrush, choose save as...

6. The drop down menu gives you a choice as to what type of file you want to save it as, i.e. .mp3, .jpg, .bmp....

7. Convert it to .jpg!!

THE END, I'm kinda drunk hope I told you right but my job is an IT, hope I told you right!

Use the program paint. It comes with all computers. When you open the image there is an icon on the bottom that says something along the lines of "opens image for editing"

When you have the image open in paint then go to FILE>SAVE AS>

At this stage there will be a window pop up asking you where you want to save. Here you can rename the image and there will be a drop down menu for file types, click on the arrow in that box and select JPG or JPEG.

Hope that helps

Bitmap images have less colors than jpegs so, when you change the format on the images you will notice the colors will not be the same. I would advise using a program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Microsoft Image composer is a good one too. Not all media converters are the same, so be really careful. Like you I do a lot with images on the Web too! Good Luck!

If you are running a Microsoft operating system, here's one thing you can do: you can open the bitmap file in Microsoft Paint, go to File>Save As and in the "Save As Type" drop down box, click on the arrow and select JPEG.

Open your image editor

(if windows you can just go to: Start>Programs>Accessories>Paint),

open your file in the editor,

go to File>Save As, select jpeg as file type.

You encountered a BMP? Almost sounds like an other worldly event! Na na nana....na!na! na na nana.....na! na!............na na na na (to the tune of twighlight zone) just load them into paint and save as, select file type
