How SQL server 2000 install in Window 7 Professional?

Question

I am using window xp sp2 and using SQL Server 2000 on server computer. But now i have purchased new computer of HCL having window professional 7. I want to use this computer as server and also want to use window professional 7, but SQL Server 2000 is not installing/supporting in window professional 7. So anybody tell me what should I do. Are we can use backup of database of SQL Server 2000 in new version of SQL Server.

This happens with many laptops with windows 7. The silliest mistake can be installing it through pendrive or cd. Install the software from dvd.Yes you can use new version of sql server also that is the best option.

u must be sure that u r using the 32bit version of windows7 then u can easilly install it
