TortoiseSVN---error code!!!!! Please help, I'm desperate!!?

Question

I am trying to install a program called TortoiseSVN, and I get an error..I've restarted my computer, tried downloading this program multiple times.. still get that error.. I desperately need help, please help me..

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 2804."

Can anyone help me?

according to the TortoiseSVN installation team, they have a bad file up on the sourceforge site. It is causing this error for other people as well. Try going to one of the mirror sites and getting an older version than the current one, or use one of the "non-msi" versions - you might have to install it manually.



I use TortoiseSVN all day - and have had NO problems before.

There is a 32 bit and 64 bit files. Are you sure that you are not trying to install the 64 bit, if your windows is 32 bit, the 64 bit might be the problem.

Sounds like a file is in use or you don't have administrator privileges to install or another program is preventing changes to the registry.
