Question:
Should I go with FreeBSD, Linux, or both?

FreeBSD looks hot. Then there is Fedora and Felicia...LILO or GRUB!? I'm starting to consider poking my eyes out with forks and will look like Oedipus. This is driving me crazy.

For separate hard drives, should GRUB go on the primary or secondary hard drive? I'll wind up asking another question. The last time I posted a GRUB question no one answered!

I would go with Linux, as although most programs work seamlessly in FreeBSD, there are a slight few that do not.

Also, don't stop window shopping at Fedora, because there are tons of distros that you can choose from. I am particularly happy with Ubuntu, and have it dual booted with Windows Vista (in the event I need to access some program there).

I am using GRUB, as I heard it is a bit easier and more friendly than LILO is.

GRUB is very agile, so it will run from whichever hard drive is set in your BIOS as your first booting one.

I use Windows on the primary drive and Scientific Linux which starts with GRUB on the secondary drive without any problems. Try live DVD first and install if you like it. GRUB is more reliable and stable than LILO.

If you install Scientific Linux, it will ask you where to install GRUB; either drive - primary , secondary - is possible. I use GRUB on the secondary drive, I did not want to change the primary one.

It is also free as FreeBSD.

well, i am not a Linux expert, but GRUB is a bootloader, which loads ur OS, so it should go on the primary drive GRUB also lets you choose between multiple OS so it is good for a dual boot. LiLO is another bootloader, but it is a older one, so i wouldn't use it. aslo yu might wantg 2 try ubuntu linux, it is easier =D

Probably both.
