Remove any Visual Studio old installation and restart you PC/LAPTOP and follow these steps to do a OFFLINE INSTALATION of VS 2008:

1.- Download the Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions with SP1 DVD image file at http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/

2.- Burn the DVD with Nero, Roxio or any other software. Or you could use a virtual drive (no need to burn the DVD), for this download and install

• Virtual CloneDrive http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

3.- Now simply insert the DVD created above into the computer to which you plan to install and double-click the setup.hta file to begin the installer OR browse to the mounted image and double-click the setup.hta to begin the installer.
