If you use Yahoo mail, Outlook can download your messages, with a little aid. Nearly all e-mail programs use POP3 (“post office protocol”) that allows e-mail programs to find and retrieve Web-based e-mail from Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. Some providers charge for the privilege to access your accounts from an email program.

Try YPOPs for Windows and Mac. This small, free program enables popular email clients like Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, Mozilla, etc., to download e-mail from Yahoo accounts.

You can import your Outlook contacts into Yahoo.

First, export your contacts from Outlook: Open Outlook and click File, Import and Export. Select ‘Export to a file.’

Click the Next button.

Select Comma Separated Values (Windows).

Click the Next button.

Select your Contacts folder in the file tree.

Click the Next button.

Select a name and destination location for the file.

Click the Next button.

Finally, click the Finish button.

Now you are now ready to import to Yahoo’s address book: Sign onto Yahoo Mail home page, click Addresses and then click Import Contacts. Use the dropdown box to select Microsoft Outlook (.CSV file). Click Browse to locate the file you wish to import. Select it and click Open. Click Import Now.
