OpenOffice Writer (free) is a clone of Microsoft Word.

OpenOffice is free and compatible with most Microsoft Office applications.

Word is a part of the Office suite of programs and as such is something you have to buy, however as the previous answerer said you can use Open Office which is a free program that has nearly all the features of Word without the price tag.It will open anything created in Word format.

Try It.
