I believe only Office 2007 works with Vista. So there is one thing eliminated.

Email programs will send email across different platforms, but don't expect MS software to work under Unix / Linux, they are totally different operating systems.

I don't believe you have 2003 working with Vista, I tried installing it, and it said it was not compatible with Vista.

very own selection in maximum cases, I easily have examine a good number of professional Linux, difficulty is which Linux? Mac? a minimum of with residing house windows and Linux you may chop and alter, they the two help the comparable ecosystem. in case you have residing house windows put in you may eliminate it and run Linux in case you like and Viceversa, or twin boot. the thought that Linux is look after and mal-ware loose (virus, secret agent ware) is genuine to a undeniable quantity, regrettably the greater people who have it is going to bring about greater human beings working as root and any malicious code they run has that privilege. this is residing house windows difficulty, new consumers are directors by potential of default, something they do has administrative privileges and an infection is all too person-friendly. That being pronounced, residing house windows is comparatively person-friendly, it extremely is in all probability the laptop you utilize at artwork and there is subsequently no gaining expertise of curve, help on line is likewise person-friendly again by potential of, with a good number of consumers it extremely is unlikely you are the 1st to adventure a particular difficulty. There are emulators for residing house windows so which you would be able to run Mac OS, set up the digital computer and set up Linux, do a seek on emulators and there are various. i admire residing house windows and Linux, on the 2d laptop proportion is gained by potential of Microsoft, and Servers are Linux. as long as you replace secure practices application (Linux and Mac as properly - you're able to desire to maintain patching the kernel as they grow to be available for Linux) and make sound judgements approximately what you do on line then your adventure would be only approximately equivalent despite device you utilize. concerning application innovations, each has distinctive comparable alternatives and that i could discover it strategies-blowing that conventional application does no longer be available for residing house windows - only for Linux. Linux and Mac consumers are very vocal approximately 'residing house windows bashing', residing house windows is a large purpose - yet i like it. Linux runs on only approximately no longer something, yet some variations might properly be source hungry as quickly as you load Gui's and greater desirable amenities. Vista is a hungry only to load, yet with sufficient components (maximum new desktops are easily equipped) runs properly. Mac? No thought - in no way used it.
