Windows 7 Matroska (MKV)?

Question

I have Windows 7.
I have 2 files (very long) that are in MKV format.
Strangely, I can play it in the Windows Media Center that comes with Windows 7 (Ultimate).
I asked whether I have the final build on youtube.
A person said earlier versions did, but not the final build. He said I have a beta or something.

The Build Number is: 7600. 16385. x86fre. win7_rtm. 090713-1255

Also, I have DivX 7 for windows (I thought it might be linked to this problem).

Do I have the final build of the authentic Windows 7 Ultimate?
And how is it that I can play MKV files in Windows Media Center?
