I'm attempting to install Vista SP2 on my computer so that I can install Final Fantasy XIV Online. However, when I attempt to install the standalone, it gives me the error:
"No such interface supported" (E_NOINTERFACE 0x80004002)
Any help would be very much appreciated!

I had the same issue. I had a representative from Microsoft use remote control to try and install using various ways such as upload it from his own servers and manually try to install. It was unsuccessful. There are 2 ways to fix this.
1. Use your reboot disk that came with your computer, make sure to back up all important data beforehand.
2. Upgrade your OS to W7. I did and it's great!

First and foremost, do you have service pack 1 installed ?
Can't install SP2 if you don't have SP1.
Here is a link to Microsoft Support for service pack installation issues :
hi, before put in provider %. 2 determine you have the replace KB 955430 put in on your Vista laptop. That became launched on the 2d might 2009. If that's no longer put in then attempting to place in SP2 will fail. Assuming KB995430 is put in, then sure, its in basic terms a click away to place in SP2, besides the fact that if, it extremely is going to in all probability require a reboot with the widely used alert because it shuts down telling you to no longer coach computing device off on a similar time because it starts off unpacking the provider %.. it extremely is going to directly close off and reboot laptop while its sturdy and arranged.
