I was trying to transfer music from my Windows Media to my iTunes, something I do a lot, but when I went to transfer a folder of music, I must have clicked on my pictures, because my computer went into some giant frenzy and tried to transfer my pictures to another place (I don't know for sure where.. I'm not very techy).. I was really confused, because I didn't click "OK", it just did it on it's own. I pressed cancel, maybe, 20 times, so my computer froze. It came back to it's senses, though..
A while later, I was trying to save a picture I had found online, but there was no place to save it. The entire folder was completely gone! Well, it was there, but unclickable. So I was freaking out, trying to look under every folder on my computer, but I couldn't find anything. Eventually, I figured I should go to Recycle Bin, and I found some pictures, And I restored them back.
I got my Picture folder back to normal, but then I took a closer look, and of course, like you would expect, it only restored the pictures I intentionally deleted, and not the ones that were accidentally removed. I have some very important pictures form a year ago when I went to Japan, and they were not backed up, either. Is there a way I can get those back?

You can often successfully recover deleted files from a PC, phone or camera memory card or USB Memory stick, it just depends on what’s happened since the files were deleted.

When you delete files the data itself isn’t deleted, just the index entry that says where the data for those files is located. The space containing the deleted files is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it becomes too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.

If the deleted files are on a memory card or USB memory stick, just don’t save any new files to it.

One of the easiest ways to see if you can recover deleted files is to try some file recovery software. Recommended asoftech recovery as it saved my life many times.

I am not sure exactly what went haywire, and that may affect whether it can or not. You should consult a technology professional.

That being said, you may try using your system restore function to revert back to a date prior to the mishap. Most likely your files are still there as data.

However, if you are going to do this, do this soon. Assuming you are using Windows, read up online about how to use system restore, and then decide whether it's worth doing.

CTRL+Z will undo the last action in most cases. but a system restore will probably NOT return your images as the system restore is for system files and not data (your images and docs are data)

There are one or two programs on the net that may help I have use this one along with other programs from the same stable
