Question:
How to rip DVDs in full DVD quality?

I want to make digital copies of all my DVDs so I can stash the discs away and never scratch them or lose them. I want to keep the full original quality of the DVDs. It would also be nice to keep the menus and special features, so it would seem as though I put the DVD into the drive (when it really is just a file). Though that is not as important as having the actual movie and having it in the original quality.

Please no answers like "d00d this DVD ripper is da best! www.bestdvdripper.com" If you are going to answer, please explain exactly how to do it and why it is remaining at full quality and not being lessened.

Thanks

How about WinX DVD Ripper? You can edit the video&audio parameters to control video quality as you wish.

And it's completely free. No trial, no registration, no limitations to use. Not all free programs are professional, but feel free to try this one. Personal experience~

I think just backup your dvd is more proper for you since you don't mind the file size, converting to other format will lose quality more or less. I use ideal dvd copy and it works well, but it is not free, you may google some free ones but i just like ideal dvd copy since it is simple and stable, you may free download http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/ and have a try by yourself. 10 times free full function trial.

steps:

1. Insert your DVD to your DVD drive and open Ideal DVD Copy;

2. Choose "To hard disk..." from the destination dropdown list, then a window will pop up. Please select a folder on your hard disk to store the copied DVD.

3.Choose proper copy mode from the copy mode dropdown list if you want. Usually just let it as default and it will keep the same menu, extra, main movie as the original DVD.

4.Just click the start button to copy.

it can also burn to blank disc if you have a dvd burner, :)
