How do you convert a video file type?

I am trying to make a video using Windows Movie Maker. I sent from videos from my phone onto my email and saved them. But they saved as a 3PGG Movie file and Windows Movie Maker won't take it unless I change the video file type. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Windows Media Player doesn't recognise 3GP video files, which read WMV, AVI, ASF, MPEG-1 well. So if you want to play 3GP files with Windows Media Player, you should convert 3GP to those referred video formats first.
