Whenever I try to get into different programs, Microsoft programs particularly, there is a message that is displayed: No Office Assistant Character Files Present on System. Please Run Setup in Maintenance Mode and Install at Least One Character. PLEASE HELP! What does this mean and how do I begin to do it? THANK YOU!!

just need to put the office install cd in and choose the maintenance rather than setup mode to install the little guy. My fave is the cat. :)

You have office assistant option turned on but the actual files are NOT installed. Open Word, and up at the menu bar select Help. Depending on the version of Word you have, there will be an option to Hide the Office Assitant, or something to disable it.

It means you are free from the annoying little clippy character. Be thankful :)
