Okay, long story but bare with me...
first of all i was making a movie on imovie from videos i recorded on photobooth on my mac
and most of the videos imported (.mov file) except for one
and i have no idea why, but it just wouldn't work
what happens is I go to file > import movies > choose the video > add to existing event > Import
usually that works and it shows the blue bar progress of coping the file then moving the file to the event
but when I tried it with that one movie, It would come up as a blue bar but when it had it moving the file to the event, the blue bar wouldn't appear, and it would finish, and nothing would come up in the event
Why did this happen? And most importantly how can I make it work??

Now I'm making another movie on someone else's video camera
it recorded in .AVI format however and when I imported them onto my mac it was just black with no sound
I have a converter (MPEG Streamline) but when it converted to .mp4, it was black with no sound too
so I looked up on the internet for another free converter, I found a few but they all either left a watermark, would only convert half of the movies etc
And then finally after a lot of hard work I finally found one that would convert all of it and leave no watermark and was free ("Any Video Converter")
I used it and it was great and I was really happy because it was finally working
BUT THEN when I tried to import the movies onto imovie IT DIDN'T WORK
the same thing happened with that one movie I was talking about before

PLEASE does someone knows a way I can import them onto imovie???
