Question:
Windows 7 a Nightmare!?

I have just bought a new laptop that runs Windows 7 and its a nightmare to use at times.1

I would never ever buy another computer that runs Windows again because whereas before the 2 Windows operating system was relatively easy to use even for me it now seems that your forced to3 be a system administrator and learn all sorts of new stuff. I don't want to be a system administrator I4 just want to use my programs and save data; I'm the sole user.5

Problems at this Moment6

1. At the moment, there is only ONE folder on my external hard disc that I can save my data to as7 trying to save data to any of the others just 'flags up' permission denied error messages; however I8 can read them. As far as I know I'm the administrator (and sole user). 9

2. Also I have acquired from somewhere a folder with a padlock on it that will not move and I don't10 know how to get rid of. Any help would be welcome but I tell you now I have tried all sorts.11

I've lost count the number of hours I wasted trying to sort these problems out when I should be12 working. I did not buy a computer to waste my time trying to sort these sort of problems out. Know13 doubt there are a couple of you out there who spend hours loving the complexity of it all and may15 be14 wondering what is all the fuss about! Well, you may be 'into' this sort of thing but I just want17 to16 use my computer and save my work.18

Why can't they make Windows 7 for a single user and the advanced user if they want it19
and give the option of single users like me to have a simple system like we had20
under the old windows system.21

For those into this sort of thing I offer you some error codes with line numbers of my own22

101 re-read my Question line no.

If anyone can help me rid me of these two problems I'd be gratful. However, I may need to e-mail a lot you as you lead me through and I reply to your response; my e-mail is open.

Thx in advance

To be honest, I've been using Windows 7 since it came out as a beta product, it is fantastic compared to both XP and Vista, enjoy it, it's bloody brilliant.
