As long as you have a full version windows vista 64 disc you will be able to reformat(wipe clean) your hard drive. Thise will basically start the hard drive from scratch and it will be like xp x64 was never there.

Just a word of warning: if xp64 is not compatible I would surely expect vista64 to carry the same undesirable trait.
That said, the install disc for vista will overwrite the MBR and install over the existing data, but if you really want to clean the hard drive I'd recommend using some third party software such as Maxtor's drive utilities. Zeroing out a drive is the only way to really clean it and there should be lots of software you can find through searching the net. If you have trouble searching for something try this:
Its an option when you install vista on another partition on your hd.
When you have it like this when you boot up ur pc it asks you if you wanna bott Microsoft Windows Vista or Earlier Version of windows.

Uh I think you just re-format the hard drive and then restart it with the vista disks. Vista is kind of gay Btw. I think that's all you have to do. you might want to check with you pc corp. before you do that because it may not have the right drivers in it. They might be able to help you out too. *Shrug*

dude i think its because the OS is 64 bit, not many programs can run on 64 bit. So i would recommend get an OS with 32bit which is in general use by most of the people.
