Just the other day I got the Win 7 antivirus 2012 virus and managed to remove it from my computer, but ever since then my computer start up has been extremely slow. I went into msconfig and figured out that if I turn of Windows event log, my computer starts up and runs perfectly like it used to. If I keep it on, startup takes at least 15 minutes compared to 1 minute if it is off. Is it ok to leave the event log turned off or is there a way I can fix it?

It's fine. Just make sure you have some type of Anti-virus running

Hi,

I was having this issue for the past 2 weeks. I have Mcafee installed in my laptop. However when I Started getting messages to run scan from Win 7 Anti virus 2012, I thought it is genuine. However before I proceeded , I saw in the Net that it is a fake message to get money from you.In the frist time I restored to my earleir version of Widows Update (I'm in Windows 7) and it worked. However again it appeared last evening. I saw an article stating to run - Mcafee- Stinger . As all access was blocked by Win 7 Antivirus, I downloaded the Stinger in another computer and copied via a pen drive in my virus laptop. Stinger cleaned up all malaware and I'm too happy as my system is good!.

So pl run ,Stinger if you are having Mcafee.

Think twice before u pay for any other tools for removal of Virus.

The only Question before me is, why the Mcafee itself do not detect it when you have an authorised copy of Mcafee Anti Virus plus ?

Enjoy and do not worry.

Thanks

Ram
