I want to uninstall Windows Live Messenger (installed it about a month ago, so early Marchish 2009)... and I have a Vista laptop. It's not appearing in Add/ Remove (tried searching for "Live" and "Messenger" as well and didnt appear), so is this happening to anyone else/ how can I find a way to uninstall it? :) Thanks in advance =]

The new versions of Windows Live Messenger do not have an uninstall utility for just the messenger. What you need to look for is a program called "Windows Live installer" inside your Add/Remove Programs window in Control Panel. Once you run it, you will see options to uninstall Windows Live.

Instructions to get rids of Live Messenger on XP or VISTA machine

1.Press the Windows button on your keyboard, or launch the Start Menu using your cursor.

2.Select the "Run..." option.

3.In the prompted box, enter "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove".

4.Press the Enter button on your keyboard, or click "OK."

5.When you are prompted and asked to restart your computer, click "Yes."

Alternatively, you could disable Windows Live Messenger which would leave it installed on your computer in case you later decided to change your mind.
