I am trying to link a table to access from an sqlserver source and getting an error about the user not being linked to a trusted connection. Is this a problem with the security set up of the sql server or the windows server and how do I correct this?

When you connect to your sql server within Microsoft Access, you must provide the username / password for the database / table in question. I would recommend just using the sa account built into sql server but you will need to know the password. The sa account should have permissions to all databases in SQL Server.

You will need to create a dsn connection on the windows server using the odbc data connection under administrative tools. The dsn will walk you thru setting up the connection properly and there is a test button that you can click on to test the connection before you try to use that connection for Microsoft Access.

Then you link using the odbc connection and select the dsn you created.

I think this is a problem with access. Try updating the permissions in access.
