I have a Vista operating system which no longer is supported by Google Chroma so I tried to download Windows 7 but didn't have enough free space for it. So I uninstalled Chrome to free up space but then had only Internet Explorer through which to access Microsoft so that I could download Windows 7. But IE keeps telling me I am not connected to internet (even though I clearly am) and since I don't have Chrome anymore (and can't reinstall it since I can't get there from IE anymore) I am SOL! I've already unchecked the box that says "work offline" in Internet Options and have checked those SSL and T-something or other boxes under "Advanced" in that section where those occur. I'm using a borrowed computer to find out if there is a solution to getting IE to work long enough for me get an alternate option for the Chrome/Vista issue.

Why not burn a lot of you documents, pictures, movies, etc., etc., etc. to a DVD. Once that is done you can delete all of the original files from you computer to make room to do what you are attempting to do. If there is still not enough room then burn more "stuff" to another DVD. Repeat the process until you have the room you need. Pretty simple huh?

Reset internet explorer. Launch IE. Click on tools ( the gear icon ) and then internet options and then on the "advanced tab" and then on reset. Don't just click as a guess because you will really screw up your unit. No, you do not have to be on line to reest. Be sure to reboot before trying again.

since you are using a borrowed computer, why not download a Windows 7 iso onto a flash drive or dvd and install it on your computer?

or download portable firefox onto a flash drive and run it on your computer from the flash drive to download win 7.
