Well, music is linked to PowerPoint, so you should embed the music in your PowerPoint presentation. You may be interested with this article, it will tell you how to email your PowerPoint presentation to others with multimedia files.

you did't send the music.
when you insert the music to PowerPoint, PowerPoint just create a link that make refer to the music file, but not"embed" the music in it.
To resolve your question, you can go to the computer where your original presentation located, put all the inserted music file and the PowerPoint Presenation in one folder, reinsert the music, then zip the folder, then email it. That'll be OK.
Another solution is that you can convert the PowerPoint presentation to video file. This is even more simple than the first method, but costs money. There are some professional PowerPoint to video conversion tools, if you would like to try this method, you can use this tool to help you: http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/

The PowerPoint has a LINK to the music file. You would have to send the music as a separate file and they would have to save that music file in exactly the same "path" as the one that you inserted into the PowerPoint file when you created it.

You should try Scate Ignite 4 (http://www.scateignite.com) and turn your Powerpoint slides and music into a professional presentation with voice over on some of the slide. Then publish it to and video file such as WMV or even SWF (for user interactions). You can even upload it Free to IgniteCAST (http://www.ignitecast.com) and share it privately to the people you are trying to email, or share your presentation public to the world. Have fun!
