Anyone know if theres a way to keep the desktop shortcuts from moving?

I prefer to have my icons run horizontal with a line for files,folders, web design, game design, etc, but each time my screen changes resolution or i move an icon too far over all of my icons get jumbled up and "auto arrange" gets turned on---starts to make me mad (i am using the the nice word)

I had the exact same problem and do I have a program for you!! It is called Icon Restore - it is a free program from C/Net Download.com (This is a great site - you should check it out while you are there if you don't already know about it. This is such a simple little program, but it has saved my sanity - or, at least it has saved me from a lot of frustration! I have a lot of icons on my desktop, custom arranged and now, thanks to this program, it is a breeze to restore my icons - just a couple of clicks. get your icons were you want them,then right click,then click on arrange icons by,then click lock web icons on desktop

arrange icons by > align to grid



they stay in position but kiss the customization bye-bye.

hi maximum appropriate click on your reveal screen. choose set up icons via... motor vehicle set up -> lock destop products. only test and you will locate many little tricks. desire this helps Billy
