I was uninstalling CyberIpod Video Converter Max. While doing so, a notification popped up saying that a shared file 'MediaInfo.dll' was no longer in use by any programs and asked if I wanted to uninstall it. The weird thing is, the file is in my System32 folder. Is it safe to uninstall this? Or did I getz some malware?

You can delete it. It's a dynamic library that was installed by CyberIpod Video Converter Max into System folder and was used by it.

Now, when you're uninstalling this program you can delete it with no damage to your system.

P.S. Sometimes programs need to install/copy additional files/libraries/drivers into system directory in order to function correctly.

P.S.S. If ou are not sure you may try to click 'No' and leave this file (it doesn't occupy a lot of space on your hard-drive).

Run an antivrus scan on the file. I don't know the program but if it's been downloaded from a reliable source it should be fine. I got a BSOD in vista when I uninstalled something - malware free no virus. Sometimes theese things happen, but this just looks to be a file that was using your program or a part of it so I would say safe yes.

NOTE: a quick google search of the file showed it was something to do with video so I'm 99.9% sure its safe to uninstall.
