Question:
Smartheap Library error?

I am trying to run Age of Empires (the first one) Gold Edition on a Macbook Pro partition with Windows Vista Ultimate, but every time I try to start it up, I get an error saying "Smartheap Error: Out of Memory. Please free up some memory, and then run the program again".

I tried changing the RAM and paging file thingy, I tried running the game in every compatibility mode (the Windows website lists it as Vista-compatible anyways), and I tried looking online for answers, but nothing is helping me.

I was able to run the game the first time I installed it, but when I copied over some data files from another virtual machine, the problems started. I tried deleting the data files and reinstalling the game many times, but the problem persisted. I can run The Rise of Rome expansion, but only random map games work.

Any help?
