Question:
Best Excel Regression Software?

I am looking for an add-on to Excel that can do the following:

-Have a very large amount of possible data to input into a regression, obviously much more than Excel's allotted 16 different columns

-Automatically output what the regression equation would look like applied to each input

-Automatically output what the regression equation would do to inputs not involved in the study (meaning predictions for outcomes not yet determined)

XLStat did this for me, but it was on a trial version which ended a while ago.

Any other pieces of software that could do these things? Free or not?

Hello friend, best excel regression software available for you is Excel Regression Analysis.

The Excel Regression Analysis and Forecasting model provides a reliable basis for identifying value drivers and forecasting business and scientific data. While the regression analysis utilizes a range of commonly employed statistical measures to test the validity of the analysis, results are summarized in text for ease of use. Once relationships have been identified, forecasting can be accomplished based on a range of available methodologies. The Excel regression analysis solution provides much more functionality and more intuitive results display than the standard regression analysis provided within Excel via the Analysis Toolpak add-in.

Hi. There is an excel add in that will solve the problem for you very easily. Go to Main excel icon, click and then choose excel options. In the emerging box, on the left side, pl click excel add in tab. Then in the emerging box, down under, click excel addin in the Manage Box. You will get choice of add in in excel, Please tick analysis tool pak and click ok. Allow the add on to be installed from ms office tools automatically from your office downloaded folder.

Please see this as Data analysis in the Data main menu in the top right corner after the add on downloaded in excel. There you find regression analysis and other statistics tool.also.Select the range and then click the Data tab, data analysis and then click regression. The wizard will do the rest for you. It is as simple, and available.

This add on is not installed automatically, when you installed excel. This does not apply to starter pack. ok. Enjoy

I would recommend R (http://www.r-project.org/). It's free and used by statisticians across the world. You may also want to combine it with this amazing GUI as well: http://www.rstudio.com/ide/. There are a bunch of YouTube clips on how to run different models, including linear regression models.

Good luck!
