If you used crouton to install linux as explained in this link:

http://www.webupd8.org/2013/12/install-ubuntu-on-your-chromebook-using.html

Then you should be able to install the chrome browser by using the software center. If you are running ubuntu linux go to the main menu and look for Software Center. That should let you install chrome. If you are using another version of linux also look through the menus for a utility that will let you install programs.

Hi,

Getting linux programs depends on which "core version" of linux Your particular distro was made from/with.

There are several it could be - including Debian, Slackware, red Hat, Ubuntu, and more than a few others.

The good news is that there are also hundreds of distros available, many of which have, or can get from their "repositories" a copy of the Chrome browser(s).

Otherwise, a genuine Chromebook SHOULD be able to dload it from the AppStore, which is a seperate repository for Google-core verified software.

G'Luck!!
