PSP X3 says it runs out of memory when I open a certain amount of pictures, although I have only used 64% of available RAM.
Any fix/mod/patch for this?
Thanks

It might not be the amount of RAM that's the problem. When you photo edit all the photos and every thing you do to each one is temporarily saved to a scratch disk or temp files on your Hard Drive. The information is what allows you to work with layers, to Undo multiple times and to record scripts. Every program seems to have an optimum number of photos you can open before it can't take any more. How big are the photos coming out of your camera? You might resize them before attempting to place a lot of them in the workspace. Also, if you haven't done it for a while, defragment your HD to free up a block of space.
btw, 64% of available RAM is a lot because you've got to have some RAM left to use while editing.
The bottom line is that every photo editing program will only allow a certain number of photos to be opened in the workspace before it crashes under the weight of them.
(I'm not sure what you're saying in the Additional Details but if you have 54% of 4 GB available with no programs open and PSP X3 uses 64 % of that, the program's using 1.4 GB. [4 X 0.54] X 0.64

Browse your General Preferences and the Reset preferences. In the last one you can Delete all cache files.
You can empty the clipboard from the Edit menu.
At least that is for Coral PSP X. Browse for possibilities like this if you need to have many large files open at the same time.

The program evidently can't use the amount of memory needed for the pictures you're trying to open.
