I have had several problems with my computer ever since I had to reformat due to a trojan. Here is a complete list of them,I am not expecting answers to all,but hopefully I can piece together everything and fix my computer,

1) No sound, I have tried installing Sigmatel HD Audio driver(my on board sound card) but certain dll files are missing and the installation cant be complete, also my speakers wont even turn on, one day the power just went out on them.

2) Internet Browser experiences problems and shuts down randomly, the message for unexpected error comes out and I have to close out and restart, this is pretty annoying.

3) World of War craft makes my computer crash, when I run it the power shuts off and it 'overheats' I think I may need a new power supply? And when is doesn't shut down it still crashes cause of fatal errors

What can I do to save my computer? buying a new laptop would be a reasonable option if there are no good answers,

When you do a reformat and reinstall your OS, you need to reinstall drivers for all the components of your computer especially critical ones including

Motherboard chipset drivers

network card driver

graphics card driver

sound card driver

If you don't install the drivers designed specifically for your system then you will just be using generic microsoft drivers so your hardware wont be up to it's optimal performance.

Your computer should have come with a CD that has all these drivers on it, apart from your operating system. If you can get the drivers off that CD they won't be missing dll files or anything. Otherwise you should be able to download updated versions of the drivers from the website of the company that made your computer..

I had a computer that had your #2 problem. Shutting down right in the middle of an email. Plain 'ol made me mad! Frustrated.

I tried all kinds of things, talked with techs about it, asked questions on internet newsgroups . . .

I finally gave up on the issue and got myself a Sony laptop. Life settled down and this baby is terrific!

And YOU have got LOTS going on. You just might use that computer for a boat anchor and get going with a new laptop like you're indicating. Life is short, get all you can with a Sony, a Mitsubishi, an Acer, an HP, or whatever. Guaranteed - you'll look forward to starting up your new computer!

I have some simple answers for those questions

1. Try the driver cd you got with the computer if that one doesn't work download it. And make sure you download the right one.

2. Download Firefox :p

3. This could be more things I think. You videocard driver sucks or is installed incorectly, or you registry is messed up etc... You could also try the WoW repair tool. WoW does some weird things on my pc too.
