Can anyone recommend any decent (functional rather than "pretty") open-source alternatives to Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, that will run on Windows 7 64-bit? (Access and Powerpoint are not required.) The email client needs to have a built-in calendar. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

LibreOffice is the only fork of OpenOffice that supports the current open file format used by Microsoft and other up to date office suites.
Thunderbird is one open source email program
There's a better email program in SeaMonkey, which is also open source.
Calendar open source is a Thunderbird add-on called Lightning.

It's difficult to find a office suite with email client, but you can use
LIBREOFFICE (office suite compatible with Microsoft office) http://www.libreoffice.org/features/
and use Thunderbird as your email client http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird
