Software developers are also known as computer programmers, and in a formal business (or scientific) environment they are part of a team composed generally of a project manager/lead, designer(s), and tester(s). Developers take a design from the software designer, and turn it into a final product (the software) using a specific computer language and a software development kit. The software has to go through a testing and quality assurance process before going into "production" or the final version for the general end-users.
In an informal setting, the developer performs all the functions (design, code, test), but this usually works best for smaller/simpler applications.

Software developers write computer programs (which is also called developing software). Some do this as their job, either working for a company or working for themselves (freelance). Many people write software in their free time for fun, though. Like with anything else, people have different levels of ability and different levels of dedication to their craft. Writing many types of software does not require a high level of mathematical knowledge. For instance, websites are a specialized form of software and most of them do not require any math. Problem-solving skills are absolutely essential, though. The ability to take a big problem, like what you want the software to do, and break it up into a bunch of smaller problems that are easier to solve, is a big part of writing software. Some types of software, though, require a much higher level of skill. For example, to write a program that will take a video and make it take up less disk space while still looking high-quality (which is called data compression) requires a good deal of skill with math and with programming. To work as a software developer in most companies does not require a great deal of skill, but it all depends on just what kind of software they are creating.

Software developers as the name implies develop/make/build software, like apps. Software developers made the browser you used to ask this question.
Not necessarily that Math is a requirement but it definitely doesn't hurt.

Yes and software developers are the creative minds behind computer programs. Some develop the applications that allow people to do specific tasks on a computer or other device. Others develop the underlying systems that run the devices or control networks.
