I have a microsoft works document that when I send it to my contacts, most of them can't open the document. Any ideas on why and what to do about it? Could I convert it to a JPEG? But how do I do that?
Please help!

First possibility:

Make an screenshot (press the button Prt Scr). Paste the Screenshot in Paint and save it as JPEG.

Second possiblities:

Your contacts may download and install "Word Viewer" (it's free).

Third possiblity:

For a jpeg I would open the doc so it fills the screen. Press PrintScreen/SysReq button top right of keyboard. They won't be able to edit it.

Open paint or photoshop, ect, and "paste".

Edit if needed and (important) "save as a .jpg" in Save As box.

Other options: Save (export) as .pdf--everyone has adobe reader. Open Office.org Writer is compatible with .docs, many use it cuz it's free. Just noticed you said Works--open it in Word or OO Writer and save as .doc or whatever Writer's doc equivalent is.

Download and install Open Office. It's free.

You can use the OO word processor and save the file in Microsoft Word formats. Or, you can create a file in OO format and export it to a PDF file.

You could either convert it to pdf or as you said a jpg.

For a jpg you could use the print screen button, paste into and tidy it up in a graphics program and then save each page.

If they don't have Word, they can get http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displaylang=en
