I have a large PDF document that I need to translate for my firm and I'm desperately looking for a very good translation software. I need it to preserve the formatting because I don't have time to go in and redo it myself. Any suggestions? PS: Please don't recommend Google.

Maybe you could converter your PDF to another file format. Then you could translate it without changing its format. Finally you can converter it back into PDF file.It sounds a little stupid. But I think it really works.Hope it helps.

Here is some PDF converters to be recommended.

Wondershare PDF Converter

Wondershare PDF to PowerPoint

Wondershare PDF to Word

Hi,

Check out Systran translation software at www.TranslationSoftware4u.com. You can translate large PDF files by just selecting your file and clicking translate. The software is designed to retain your formatting.

Look at Systran Business or Systran Premium, both can handle PDF files.

You did not mention the language but the above works for English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch, Polish and a few more.

If you are working with a PDF that contains Asian characters you will need to pre-process your document first with OCR software and then translate it.

The problem with translation software is that most of them don't keep the idioms and phrases used in a certain language. They might translate the words but not the meaning and thus lead to misunderstandings.

I'm saying that you may need to find a human translator if its an important document.
