Can you change the icon of VLC Player?

Question

For .wma files, the icon is a orange cone (to open with VLC Player). I still want to open it with vlc player but I want to change the icon. Is it possible?

VLC is a very basic, pretty crumby program, so i'd suggest using something else (even windows media player is better) but if you dont want to do that then go here: http://littleway.blogspot.com/2007/12/change-file-extension-icon-in-windows.html



You may have to edit your registry though.

Scroll down on that page until you find how to change icons.

I would never try this but if I right click on the shortcut icon on my desktop, under the shortcut tab, there is a change icon box. I guess you could try it and see what happens. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Try uninstalling VLC and see if that fixes the problem.
