Ok...i took a video with my camera, and its now on my computer. When i want to watch it on my computer, i use Windows Media Player.

Is it possible to capture a picture and then save it onto my computer from the video?

Like on the video, i'm taping my friends, and i paused it at one ceartain point, and i thought, that would look great as a myspace picture.

i need you to explain to me how to get pictures out of this video.

i hope i explained it well enough!

thanks everyone

You can open the video file using windows movie maker.

Scroll on the time line and pause at the frame you like to capture.

Now click on "tools" and click on "take picture from preview"

This will open a window to save the file as .jpg

There are several options, one of which the first answerer already stated. Another handy one would be the "Print Screen" button, which is common-place on mostly all keyboards. After you press the "Print Screen" button, go to mspaint.exe, by going to:

Start>All Programs>Accessories.Paint

When you open up Paint, press Ctrl+V, to paste it. At that point, you could just reshape and crop as you please. There is a much better option though, in my opinion:

screenshot.exe is a 32.0kb file, that can take an image of any part of your screen, at any ration nonetheless. After taking the picture, you can save it in several formats, such as BPM (Bitmap), GIF, JPG/JPEG, and several others. You will find that you will use it a lot over the years, I know I have. I emailed the executable to you. If you have any problems or questions, dont be afraid to IM me at wiltzandrew1989 on Yahoo! Messenger, wiltzandrew on AIM, or wiltzandrew on MyspaceIM. I am a software collector, and I am likely to have anything you will ever need, software wise.

I hope I helped you out ;)

You don't need to download any extra screen capture software! This function is built-into MS Windows. You could try using the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. This will put a copy of your screen's image on the clipboard. From here, head to Start > Accessories > Paint, and from the Edit menu in the menu bar, choose Paste. You'll need to crop the image with Paint so it will just show your WMP screen, and save this in whatever file format you'd like.
