Open Control Panel and click Backup and Restore Center, Click Back up Computer then follow all instructions. You can use a blank DVD disc to make a back up of your entire computer. You will need this back up disc in case of a System failure.

You should have a folder in your start menu thats named as your manufacturer with options to create backup disks. if not, follow one of the methods below.

[METHOD 1]

You can do a complete backup of your system's current state by going to Start Menu > accessories > System Tools > Backup. Select complete backup and select a place to save it to. If you have the hard drive space, save it to your desktop or external drive then burn it to a disk. Whenever your system crashes, just reinstall windows and run the backup tool to restore your image. It will install all your programs.

[METHOD 2]

Creating an image of your partition. You can download clonezilla http://clonezilla.org/ and burn it to disk. Pop the disk in the tray and follow the steps on screen. you will need an external drive, a network folder or blank disks to copy the media. Once you create the image, keep it safe and when your computer crashes, pop in the clonezilla disk and restore your image.

Also, if you just need to backup your drivers, get double driver from http://www.boozet.org/dd.htm and it will create an executable so that you can reinstall the drivers anytime.

look in all programs for recovery manager or disk creator

your brand of computer would help answer your question

your brand of computer do you have?????

what you need them for >if your hard drive fails and you replace it >you will need the disks to reinstall your operating system on the new drive
