Codec problems for windows movie maker?

Question

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Downloads\Soul eater episode 1-9 English dubbed avi\Soul Eater - 1 - Resonance of the Soul.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.


this is what showed up when I tried to import videos into the movie maker. For some reason you can watch them but not put them on movie maker. Ive tried finding out how to deal with this "codec" problem but no anwers have came to me. Any help smart people?

Windows movie maker sucks ! The ideal video format is WMV if you use windows movie maker.COZ it does not support AVI, MP4 video files very well. so you need to convert them into WMV video format with some kind of video converter, then you edit and play your file in windows movie maker .some of my friend suggest me a good one ,share it with you, hope it works.

Your computer may miss the code, download and install K-lite code pack may fix the problem.
