To resolve this problem, back up your files, and then perform a clean installation of Windows XP. To do this, follow these steps:1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Maintenance, and then click Backup and Restore Center. 2. Click Set up backup, select the location for your backup files, and then click Next. 3. Continue with the wizard to select the following:• The drives and the file types to back up • How frequently to back up the drives and the file types • What time of day to perform the backup 4. Finish the wizard, and then click Save Settings and Start Backup.

Better bring it to local computer store or if you have a friend who did that before (few times atleast) and ask him to teach you. To format the frive and run windows me install from bootable cd is the easiest part, but for many beginners the hardest part is to install all nessasary drivers for all hardware components (for videocard, soundcard, networkcard, modem... etc).

You can reformate your Hard Drive when you do the intallation. This will delete all your previous files and then start the new intallation. Just put your CD in and restart your computer, booting up from the CD drive. It will walk you through the steps from there. I hope this helps!

Best way is to Format that particular drive in which ur Windows OS is present. BACKUP ur data before u do this

you need some kind of boot floppy that will give you access to the FDISK command....this is how you would completely wipe the hard drive clean...then you can use the FORMAT command and then finally reinstall with your CD's.....I would suggest moving to XP now...... the XP CD will give you the option to boot to it instead

Just start the reinstall, it should give you an option to format the disc, since you have all backed up, choose that and off you go.
