How do you export a Vcard file (of all my contacts) from Microsoft Outlook?

I want to import my Outlook contacts into my new MacBook Pro, but I keep getting an error message in Address Book stating the file format I have is incorrect. I know Address Book reads vCard format, but I don't see that as an option in Outlook when I export. All I see are CSV file and Tab Delimited File options (in both Windows and DOS) formats. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi, you may try this way:

1.Selected all contacts in Outlook

2.Forwarded them as cards to myself

3.Saved all the attachments (vcards) in a folder, c:\temp

4.Opened a command prompt and typed the command copy /a *.vcf c:\allcards.vcf which concatenates all vcards into one

Hi Stacey,

If you wish to import all your Outlook contacts in one go then try installing a contact conversion tool, the software will convert all your MS Outlook contacts in vCard format, which can then be used to access in your MacBook.

follow the steps:-

1) download and install SysTools vCard Export in Windows OS.

2) provide your outlook contacts folder path

3) save the converted contacts to the desired folder.

4) copy the converted contacts in your new MacBook.

5) When your open the Email client in it,just provide the path where you have stored the converted contacts.
