ie8 has inherent problems and needs to be deleted. ie7 is far better at the moment,so until microsoft have written patches to bring ie8into line with xp and vista, i would steer clear. ie8 is basically written for windows7 which is a slightly different language to vista or xp, hence the corruption.

As the poster said above, try firefox:

Instal firefox and compare with internet explorer - if firefox is the same as internet explorer you will know that the actual internet is to blame, and if not, you will know internet explorer is to blame.

Firefox is a lot faster, and has a lot more add-ons, and has actually got better security. I've also noticed issues are fixed quicker on it. You may find firefox a little slower at opening at first - the main issue with firefox is it isn't intergrated into windows the same way internet explorer is.

have you tried firefox, i know you may like internet explorer but seriously firefox is so much faster/safer/reliable/ and better at what it does. If your determined to stay with internet explorer, seeing as you say the program takes ages to open, it may be a problem with the program, so try and get a copy from somewhere, uninstall the one thats on atm and reinstall it again, see if that works, but really....firefox ;) Good luck
