I play around with Linux a lot recently and I just love it. However, Linux doesn't support my native Language Chinese so no other people use its open office without Chinese input method in Windows. Besides, other companies would use Windows programs which force my company to use those programs too. Do you guys see this situation will change soon? No one wants to pay for rich Microsoft if don't need to.

Even though Linux is a free, completey stable set of OSs, it is unlikely they will take off any time soon. The unnesecary 'geekiness' of it all is probably the main reason. Also, support is important.Consumers often want phone or direct-over-the-net support, rather than have to search forums and the like. Also, they may be confusing to instal for the majority of users. They may inadvertently format their windows partition, so bye bye go their files. Distros like Ubuntu may change this, but then getting the thing to you requires a large download, or a wait for the OS to get to their plce via mail. Also, as in your quetsion, language support is also important to consider, and so is softwar and hardware compatability. There's a lot to think about really, but it all comes down to the usability of the product.

there is not any malware in any respect concentrated on linux machines, different than maybe unix servers someplace. protection is marvelous. Linux is loose, different than for finished-help variations like pink Hat or Yellow dogs great-ps3 clusters. if your laptop is previous, there is incredibly a linux available which will run on it. Linux has been put in on incredibly plenty all varieties of hardware there is. try ubuntu first, because of the fact person-to-person help is the suitable. it works like a super crowd of individuals finding out some thing, and as quickly as somebody figures some thing out they positioned up it on the boards and then there is the help. It in many situations works extra perfect than a team of rude bastards in a tech help center. If ubuntu won't artwork on your laptop, try some thing else. try puppy linux in case you would be able to desire to. right here is between the suitable reasons to apply linux: you will not forget the thank you to form.

I'm sure more and more people will use Linux, much like how more and more people are using Firefox instead of IE. But will it be the majority, probably not as long as computer companies continue to package Windows in new computers. But it is changing. More companies are letting people choose which OS they want to install.

No, not at all. I dont see apple or linux becoming more popular then windows. the fact is, basically every program is made for windows... you go to a store, you see big huge sections of software for windows, and small ones for apple and linux. im not saying apple or linux isnt good, im just saying, microsoft has, is, and will continue to dominate the computer world for years and years to come.

I know fedora core has a Chinese as a language. Sometimes I switch it over to see the cool Chinese characters and i had to ask my buddy that is Chinese to switch it back because I could not understand it.
