Question:
How to Create a Log File?

Basically what I want to do is create a Log file, which will go on a USB drive along with a movie, and I want the Log file to log when and whether the file has been opened and/or copied.

The reason I want to do this is because when I buy movies, sometimes my sister asks if she can watch it, and I say OK, but only once and if you don't copy the file (because I bought the movie!). But obviously I don't know whether she's copied it or not.

So I want a file that will log everything that is happening to that file on the USB stick. I don't really know if this is possible, but would like it if someone would advise me. Thanks.

Do you keep the film on an USB-stick?

Have you asked her if she copied the movie or not? You can pretend that you have a problem with the movie and if she says 'not to worry because she has a copy'. Then you will have your answer instead of creating a complicated web. (I would only invest time if someone really cannot be trusted).

There is a way of getting log files of your USB. I heard it keeps a log file in the registry but I'm not sure how. You could always google 'log files on usb'. I found a multiple of instructions.
