I followed a tutorial to reformat my windows formatted ipod to mac and transfer my songs to the itunes on the macbook. But it synced the ipod instead, deleted the songs from ipod, and did not transfer any to the mac itunes. Now I have no songs on my ipod or mac, but I still have them on my pc. Is there a way to transfer those to the mac itunes?

You don't need to reformat your ipod b4 sync. One of the easiest ways to transfer iTunes library is by use software to copy the library contents off your iPod to a new computer. I recommend AVCWare Mac iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer. It helps to copy songs/videos/photos/playlists etc from ipod to Mac directly and safely.

Free download it at: http://www.ipodtocomputercopy.com/macconverter/mac-ipod-to-ipod-computer-itunes-transfer.html

Also you can backup your itunes to CDs or DVDs.All you need are blank discs and some time.

Hope it helps.

The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-mac transfer program to help you. This is how I did. I used AVCWare Mac iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer

It can help easily transfer all music, photos, videos, podcast, and TV shows on your iPod back to Mac completely and safely, and add them to your local iTunes library. Also, you can use it to transfer files from iPod to iTunes or from Mac to iPod, or from iPod to iPod in a direct way.

The great thing is that it won't cause any deletion of any files while transferring.

Here is step-by-step guide:

*Get iTunes 9+ on both computers*

1. Connect both computers to the same internet network

2. Open iTunes on both computers and you should see a Home Sharing folder on the right hand side. Log in with the same account for both computers

(3. On your macbook, click on the Home Sharing tab)

4. Wait for everything to load (music, videos, podcasts, etc -- this will NOT include apps, they are stored in your account information)

5. Select everything from the Home Sharing folder on your macbook and drag it to the Library folder

It won't be a problem if you use AVCWare Mac iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer.

It automatically transfers your iPod and iPhone music, video, playlist, photos to Mac and iTunes. Backup all your music and video in a couple of clicks. Really makes music and videos sharing pretty simple and enjoyable. Wish this can help and good luck.

I think its step by step guide is most helpful.

congratz on the recent MacBook, I only offered one myself Now to respond to your question, you will ought to flow your information on your new pc the two way. the variety you do it somewhat is as much as you. I actually have a 500GB exterior hard drive which I copied my song folder onto and transferred onto my pc. you could export your Library's XML in iTunes > document > Export Library. The undesirable element approximately it is your songs must be in an identical document shape as your workstation. meaning your tension letters, folder names, each and every little thing must be precisely an identical once you import your song on your Mac. So replica your songs right into a folder which copies the form on your workstation. occasion: in the journey that your songs are in folder: C:UsersYour NameMusic, make helpful they're in C:UsersAxertionMusic on your Mac! there is the thank you to flow around this, yet I doubt you want to do a batch locate/replace on your XML rfile. least puzzling approach! replica the song information on your mac only upload the folder to iTunes and function it upload all your songs in you will loose your playlist stuff, yet you could unquestionably export/import them out of your pc
